My name is Marcus Richardson, I am a doctoral student at the CUNY Graduate Center in the Urban Education policy and leadership strand. My research interests center on student financial aid policies and they impact that it has on the lives and lived experiences of people of color.
I am interested in conducting research that informs action for social, political and/or institutional reform. Therefore, my research will seek equity in the relationships that I form with participants. The results of this work should not sit on a proverbial shelf, but seek to bring about real and transformational change. This is my interest in the academy and the use of it’s tools.
